Riding through hidden trails, we ascend to Crete's most unspoiled mountain regions.
At the starting point, the bikes are unloaded, you get your helmets and an experienced guide will accompany you downhill into the coastal areas.
We will be using minor asphalt roads and well-maintained agricultural roads with only soft uphill passages.
It is not a competition but fun instead.
The Neighborhoods of Kakhodiki
-Starting point: The ancient village of Kandanos.

-Tour: A guided, easy to medium experience ride. Cycling now abandoned backroads used for centuries for commuting and trade-shipping we circle both sides of Kakhodiki canyon. The village consists of 32 unique neighbourhoods, some still habited, most of them abandoned as the city life embraced the majority of the mountainous population. Stone build houses still standing by the road, springs and fountains still waiting on horses and travellers will offer us a break of sweat. Although impossible to name each one while cycling we will meet everything from shepherd’s huts, long ago abandoned small hydration dams and the gardens they used to water, fully operational traditional guesthouses, tour guided olive oil factory facility and the ghostly neighbourhoods in the west side of the canyon.

High above the Kandanos valley
-Starting point: The ancient village of Kandanos.
-Tour: A guided, med to experienced difficulty ride. Climbing the valley’s cleverly hidden backroads will reward us with a great view of the valley from different vantage points. Modern olive groves in the drylands blend with ancient ones, passing through the village of Floria we pay a visit to the only standing monument for German casualties during the battle for Crete. The hidden village of Spina will offer us a much-needed break with cold spring water under chestnuts hundreds of years old and the old canyon road will get us back where we started.

Biking Kandania Valley
-Starting point: The ancient village of Kandanos.
-Tour: A guided all-around family ride. Cycle through shaded backroads that lead to vineyards, meet up an olive tree thousands of years old, enjoy the breeze of a riverside Platanus forest while drinking a cold beverage, the Old Mill is the perfect place to do so. Visit the oldest Avocado Grove in Crete and get lost in the jungle they form. Four season destination of outdoor activities. Roamed by rivers & crossed by dozen of trails. Split day or full day tours tailor made.
