Through different destinations of our excursions and circling the mountainous area of Platanias, Agia Marina and Stalos, we are going to follow some breathtaking off-road tracks. We are visiting a unique museum of historical memory that was a basement refuge of the Germans and reminds of the period of the German occupation after the Battle of Crete.

It is connected with the history of the place and travel us today, in the climate of that era.

We cross an 80 years old wooden bridge, drive through an abandoned quarry and admiring a unique wetland of the Lake of Agias, with many endemic species of birds, plants and reptiles.

Driving uphills and downhills will keep you excited as we are crossing winding roads through small villages to connect tracks!

Drive in Cretan Nature

Ιf you really want to see the Rare Beauty of Nature, then this tour is for you!

Therisso Gorge is characterized by amazing Natural Wild Beauty.

The gorge, which lies on the foot of the White Mountains of Crete, has steep slopes, which are a magnet for rock climbers from all over the world! Drive through the gorge, and at the and, visit the beautiful village of Therisso and take a 45-minute break.

There if you want you can order tasty traditional Cretan dishes! (not included in the cost of the tour). Therisso is a small picturesque village, which had an active role in the struggle for the independence of Crete from the Ottomans and its reunion with Greece. It was here that the historical Therisso Revolution took place at the beginning of the 20th century.

In our break, we can also visit the Historical and Folklore Museum that was established in 1985 and is hosted in the building that was used as headquarters of Eleftherios Venizelos, as well as the Museum of National Resistance, where are being exhibited many relics and photos from the period of the National Resistance of 1941-1945. Therisso Gorge starts about six kilometres north of Therisso village, and it continues for several kilometres to the south, that leads to the small village Zourva.
