The pool area features sun loungers, a balcony with dining and sitting areas, a BBQ station, and close-up views of olive trees. Guests can also enjoy distant vistas of the city of Chania and the sea, creating a perfect blend of relaxation and breathtaking scenery.
Entrance
Casa Galatas has a private parking area inside the property to park your car hires. The main entrance is at the side, just a few steps of your parking place.
Living Space & Kitchen
The bright, open plan seating, dining and kitchen area on the ground floor is a great place to socialise after a day at the beach. There are patio doors and windows which flood the room with light and really open up the feeling of space. There is also a large balcony located off this space, with a panoramic view at the sea and the mountains with a gas BBQ.
The property has been fully renovated in 2021 and has 120 m2 of inner space, as well as 120 m2 of balconies, 3 bedrooms with king size beds, a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious living room with a Samsung 55 smart TV and two large balconies, both with a panoramic views to the sea and the mountains. The residence is named after the village of Galatas, a village just above the residential area of Chania city.
It's an ideal choice for those who want to be close to the sandy beaches of Chania West coastline, yet still very close to the amazing city of Chania and the famous old venetian harbor.

If you're a beach lover, Villa Amalthia is the best possible choice, located just 50m from the sandy beach of Tavronitis. There's a wide choice of places to eat, drink and shop both on the seafront and in the main street of the village. Whether you choose to dine at a waterfront restaurant or opt for an authentic family-run taberna in the mainland, you'll be spoilt for your choice! The city of Platanias, which is the biggest touristic attraction of West Crete, has also a variety of shops, beach bars and restaurants, and is less than 5 minutes' drive from the Villa
Local markets & Shopping
In Tavronitis, there are plenty of mini markets, while a supermarket for those daily essentials is less than 10 minutes drive from the Villa. The village offers several options for shops to choose from, which is a few minutes walk from the Villa. Every Saturday, in the city of Chania, is a market where you can pick up fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as the local yoghurts and cheese. The old town of Chania has a mix of shops ranging from a bootmaker to boutique clothing.
Bars & Restaurants
You'll be spoilt for choice on where to eat in Agia Marina and Platanias. There are several restaurants that make local food and provide with a wide variety of meals. If you prefer fish, there are some waterfront tavernas that overlook the sea. Or why not put on your dancing shoes and head to one of the many nightclubs or cocktail and music bars?
Beaches
The beach of Tavronitis is less than 2 minutes' walk from the Villa, with clear blue water and soft golden sand. There is also the Blue Flag beach of Platanias with plenty of sunbeds and parasols to hire and a selection of beach bars and tavernas, all about 2km away. For a day at the beach, Elafonisi and Falasarna are ideal destinations! There are white sand and pink hues and turquoise waters that ripple in the breeze. Both beaches are a bit far away, but it definitely worths driving there!
Family fun
For some fun in the sun, especially when the coastline close to the Villa is wavy, Limnoupolis Waterpark offers a great adventure for the whole family! About 25 minutes drive from the Villa, Limnoupolis with its waterslides for the energetic and the lazy river for the more laid-back members of the group can provide with moments of joy all the members of your company.
Places of Interest
The city of Chania is not to be missed! The Venetian Harbour is fringed with restaurants, cafes and bars. This is a great place to rest after a day exploring the maze of alleys in the old town of Chania.
If you head east of Agia Marina you will find the Samaria Gorge that worths a visit. This is Europe's longest gorge, about 5 hours hiking - so be prepared to be wowed!
