In our physical bodies, we develop a balance of strength and flexibility. We also learn to reduce stress and increase awareness. Our final destination is to align and calm our body, mind, and spirit in preparation for meditation.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Vinyasa flow yoga classes, students coordinate movement with breath to flow from one pose to the next. It is a very physically active form of yoga which emphasizes the physical benefits such as increased flexibility, mental focus, cardiovascular conditioning, calorie-burn and muscle development
Yoga Nidra
Make this your own.
Add the content you want.Yoga nidra, or yogic sleep as it is commonly known, is an immensely powerful relaxation(meditation) technique, and one of the easiest yoga practices to develop and maintain. Intense vinyasa flows and long asana holds are not for everyone. Yoga nidra, however, is a practice that everyone, from children to seniors, can do. It's easy to follow at any age. All that your body needs to do is lie down on the floor. And even if you can't lie down on the floor, you can still do this practice seated.
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a therapeutic and passive approach to yoga. It consists of 18-24 poses (asanas) that concentrate on the stimulation of particular meridians, or subtle channels. Its meditational nature allows the practitioner to focus on the parts of the body that are rich in connective tissue and cultivate inner stillness through holding the asanas for a longer period of time.
During the long hold times of the yin asanas, teachers usually give "dharma talks," informal monologues that often explain the physiology and anatomy of poses, including the meridian lines being affected. They may tell traditional Buddhist stories, recite poetry, sing songs, or reflect on their own experience.
