Location
The neighbourhood
Almy Villa is located at Almyrida beachfront village, at the most privileged area of Apokoronas, one of the most beautiful suburban areas of Chania. Just some steps from the Villa, there is a "private" beach, accessible also for the public through a path from the port of Almyrida.
Almyrida is a great starting point for daily excursions to the greater Apokoronas area that has significant monuments and many places for sightseeing, with villages that have maintained their traditional culture and touch. With little driving you can visit Kournas lake, the blown glass factory at Kokkino Chorio and the ancient Aptera with its ancient history and glory.
Local markets & Shopping
The village is just 1k away, where one can find Pharmacies, Bank, Super Markets, Local groceries, restaurants, taverns & Coffee shops.
Bars & Restaurants
The area is famous for its sea food, with two of the most awarded restaurants in Crete sitting just in front of the Beach of Almyrida.
You'll be spoilt for choice on where to eat, either you choose a waterfront restaurant or a traditional restaurant on the mainland. There's a wide choice of places to eat, drink and shop both on the seafront and in the nearby old village of Almyrida. In less than 2 minutes drive you will find plenty of restaurants and beach bars.
If you are a nightwalker, a 25-minute drive would lead you to Chania Old Port, where you can find a wide variety of night bars and clubs.
Beaches
The closest sandy beach (Almyrida) is in a distance of 500 m from the villa. The beaches of Kera and Kalyves are around a 5 minutes' drive from the Villa, with clear blue water and soft golden sand.
For a day at the beach, Elafonisi and Falasarna are ideal destinations! There are white sand and pink hues and turquoise waters that ripple in the breeze. Both beaches are a bit far away, but it definitely worths driving there!
Family fun
For some fun in the sun, especially when the coastline close to the Villa is wavy, Limnoupolis Waterpark offers a great adventure for the whole family! About 35 minutes drive from the Villa, Limnoupolis with its waterslides for the energetic and the lazy river for the more laid-back members of the group can provide with moments of joy all the members of your company.
